this is only in fragments so that i can at least verify that my points are shared and pertinent to the theme. i need to fragment everything before i can put it together as a whole abstract.
-theme: alienation through the ethical judgments of aesthetecism (i figured this will at least more clearly tie in both existential ideas and meursault's character) -the aesthetecism is the "meaning" behind meursault's character/actions -we are referring to his means of existence and contentment with life- indulgence in some form of physicality -specifically, meursault notes/recognizes this judgment of his moral (or shall we say ethical?) character during his mother's vigil and in the courtroom. -quote: "They were all looking at me: I realized that they were the jury." (Camus 83) "For a second I had the ridiculous feeling that they were there to judge me." (Camus 10) -Now that I think about it, should we reverse the order? -we shall describe meursault's alienation via the medium of dance, a dance that is not meant to interpret but to merely express.
this, of course, is a rather shabby construct of the idea. but hopefully the holes can be filled.
i'm just using this for english class. if you need to drop me a comment for class, go ahead.
if your comments prompt me to discuss something more, i wont have a string of comments. i'll probably actually post an entry instead. after which, you can comment on that.
